The words that a priest recites while drawing a cross of ashes upon your forehead.
Kind of brings a somber halt to our ever careening train of thought along it's never ending track of seeming importance, and reminds us that alas... we are mortal. There will be an earthly end.
Suddenly, the everyday-isms of life become filtered through that four letter word:
Dust.
What really matters? Really?
Maybe today, we can both spend a few moments reshuffling our priorities to give those things...those really matter things...more precedence in our schedules. And perhaps, ironically, we'll discover that all the other stuff we fill our 24 hour allotments with (and often think so very important), is really just...
Dust.
