Lord, be with us in our ashes.
See our wandering minds, our envious eyes, our tired hearts.
Hear our penitence.
Know our inability to stay the course.
And the frustration that comes with recurrent failure.
Gather us up - into your forgiveness.
Pour your acceptance and love over us like a flood.
So that it may fill up our hearts and spill out, unrestrained.
Help us to stand. To walk. To grow.
But for today...
