Travel | The Forest of Dean

A visit to the steam room on an overnight stay at an airport hotel in London brought us in contact with a kindly gentleman who grew up in the Cotswolds (one of our destinations this trip). He asked about our plans, and we asked his advice upon the subject of visiting The Forest of Dean if the weather held. One of his favorite places to visit growing up was Symonds Yat in the forest, and boy are we glad we spent a day exploring this natural wonderland that was just starting to be kissed by the colors of fall! Come along with us, won't you?

Why, yes, there was a Tea Room in the middle of nowhere in a national forest - because...England. And their flat white and gluten free carrot cake was just what we needed after a few miles hike!

The hand ferry that took you 'cross the river to get to the parking area.
